What Polldance is

Polldance lets an operator run live votes during an event: the audience scans a QR code, votes, and the results move on stage.

The data controller is Cédric Lucchese (see the legal notice). Contact: cedric.lucchese.1999@gmail.com.

Data about the audience

Voting requires no account and asks for nothing: no name, no email, no phone number.

To count each device once per poll, the browser stores a random identifier in its local storage. It is generated on your device, identifies no person, and leaves with your browsing data when you clear it.

Votes are stored as anonymous counts tied to that identifier, never to an identity.

Data about operators

Operators sign in with Google. We store the profile identifier, display name and email address, plus the sessions, polls and scenes they create. This processing is necessary to provide the service they sign up for.

Google acts as identity provider under its own privacy policy; Polldance never sees your password.

Where the data lives

The application runs on servers operated by Hostinger. Like any web server, they log requests (IP address, user agent) for security and diagnostics, for a limited time.

The database is hosted by Convex, Inc., a US company, on servers located in the European Union (AWS eu-west-1). Any incidental transfer to the United States (support, administration) is governed by the European Commission standard contractual clauses included in the Convex data processing agreement.

Retention and your rights

Operator account data is kept while the account exists. Operators can delete their account, sessions and polls at any time from their profile page; deletion is immediate.

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise them, contact the address above.

You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French supervisory authority.
